People’s Kitchen Detroit

PKDPeople’s Kitchen Detroit works to develop a Community Kitchen Network that will provide a community-building and educational strategy for meeting the food needs of Detroit residents by offering classes and skillshares with CHIRP partners and other community organizations and help to better equip these sites to continue to meet community food preparation needs.

Contributes to the local food economy by procuring all produce and supplies possible from local producers and continue developing a farm-to- table curriculum and sharing resources to support healthful environments for children through the CHIRP map.

Hosts regular community meals to bring diverse residents together to share a meal featuring Detroit-grown produce and locally made products and a Healthy Living Movie night and Learning Circles to engage young people and their families.
